What is the deposit, cancellation, and refund policy?
To secure your trip booking, we require a non-refundable deposit, typically 8 to 10% of the trip cost, per person, along with any applicable room supplements, if relevant. Full payment is expected 60 days before your departure date, and we will send you a reminder via email. If your trip is scheduled to depart in less than 90 days, we will collect the full payment either 30 days after we receive your deposit or 60 days before your trip’s departure date, whichever comes first.

If you need to make changes to your plans after the final payment date has passed, our cancellation terms will differ from the ones mentioned above and are generally non-refundable. For detailed information on our cancellation policy, please reach out to our customer experience team. You can find comprehensive details in our Terms and Conditions by following this link: Terms and Conditions
Should I purchase travel insurance?
We strongly recommend obtaining travel insurance since we cannot make exceptions in the case of unforeseen circumstances, family or medical emergencies, or trip cancellations. Most travel insurance plans provide coverage for a range of situations, including medical emergencies, trip cancellations, trip interruptions, delays, medical evacuations, and the loss, damage, or theft of luggage.
Do I need to pay for a supplement when traveling solo?
For solo travelers, there is a single supplement fee of $1200. After booking your trip, please indicate your preference for a private room when filling out your traveler information form, and we will send a separate invoice for the associated cost. Alternatively, if you are open to sharing accommodations with another solo traveler this option may also be available upon checkout. Please note that these shared spots are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
If you have a severe allergy, please reach out to us to determine if this trip is suitable for your needs. We strive to accommodate most dietary restrictions; however, please note that, in many cases, specific ingredients cannot be substituted or omitted from certain dishes. To ensure we can cater to your dietary requirements, please inform us of any food allergies after booking your trip by completing the traveler information form. Your well-being is important to us, and we will do our best to make your dining experience enjoyable and safe.
What is the arrival and departure schedule?
For a smooth start to your journey, please plan to arrive at the Park Hotel in Tokyo by 9 a.m. on Day 1. We kick off the trip in the morning, visiting the iconic old town of Asakusa, and complete the day with welcome drinks and dinner. You will spend the first night of the trip in Tokyo.

The trip concludes in Kyoto at around 9 a.m. on Day 8. If you intend to catch a departing flight on Day 8, please ensure that your flight is scheduled for no earlier than 1 p.m. We offer complimentary transfers from your hotel in Kyoto to Kansai International Airport (KIX). Please indicate your transfer preference in the message box during your booking. The journey from a Kyoto hotel to KIX typically takes about 2 hours by car, so make sure your flight does not depart before approximately 1pm to allow for a comfortable transfer.
What are the visa and passport requirements for this trip?
Japan has established visa exemption arrangements with 68 countries that include several Asian countries, the United States, Canada, and EU member states. To determine your country’s status and whether you require a visa, please refer to the following link: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan

For international travel, a valid passport is mandatory. We strongly recommend that your passport remains valid for at least six months beyond the conclusion of your travels. If you are a citizen of a country that does not require a visa for tourist visits to Japan (for visits up to 90 days), you must still carry a valid passport. However, if you are a citizen of a country that necessitates a visa for tourist visits to Japan, it is your responsibility to obtain the required visa, including any associated fees.
What is the activity level?
Our trips encompass daily walks of a few miles, primarily on flat terrain, interspersed with occasional slopes and staircases. Therefore, the activity level is deemed “easy.” However, we want to note one condition if you are staying overnight at LOG in Onomichi. Due to the unique terrain characterized by stone-paved staircases and narrow streets, many roads in Onomichi cannot be traversed by car. Access to LOG is exclusively on foot, involving a climb of 100 stairs as it is located on a hill. We kindly request that you make reservations with this condition in mind. You can securely store your luggage at their affiliated hotel near Onomichi train station and pack for the duration of your stay. If you require assistance or would like more information about what to expect on the trips to determine if they are a good fit for you, please contact us. You can reach us via email at hello@metimejptravel.comor send us a text message at WhatsApp.
